There are many reasons why people end up selling their jewelry. Either they don’t have any use for them or they simply need cash for emergency purposes. The first place where these people go to when trying to sell their used jewelry is at a jewelry appraisal store. These are shops that buy and sell jewelry and surely, there’s one like it near you.
If you want to maximize the value of your jewelry, take time in selling it. Rushing into the sale would leave you with less than half of the price that you have originally bought the piece for. To get the best possible offer, you might have to go to at least three reputable jewelers and have them assess the current market value of your used jewelry.
It is also possible to put a price tag on the piece yourself. This way, you’ll be the one to determine the how much you’ll sell the item for. More or less, you still remember the price you have paid for when you bought the jewelry from the store. Sixty to seventy-five percent of its original value is a good enough selling price.
If you decide to sell the jewelry on an auction site or at an online store, you can further reduce the price until somebody takes notice of your item. This is advisable if you don’t really know for how much the interested parties are willing to buy your used jewelry for. eBay and Craiglist are two places that you can consider should you intend to sell the jewelry online.
