Your picturing is going to rely heavily on make-up so it stands to reason that you should undergo something about it. Being naif is not the prizewinning way to approach your picturing and will ultimately let you down.

When broken down bound to key elements, make-up is not that confronting. There are really only several steps you requirement to undergo about the application of make-up. These are in sequence: apply base or groundwork make-up, define the eyes, apply agaric to cheeks and finally outline the lips. That’s it! Fairly straightforward isn’t it?

If you wish to control make-up with your photography, you requirement to acquire the above application skills. If not, you will hit to hire a professional, and they are expensive. Either way here are some tips that you requirement to check along the way.

1. Keep groundwork reddened and natural. Match the color to the skin on the models neck or chest.

Some shoes are timeless in flavor. Men’s shoes are a splendid example of this. Many are equally as popular today as they were years ago. Others, however, like women’s shoes, can only be enjoyed for a season before they are quickly replaced by the next new style. Shoe styles may change from year to year or even season to season, but the truth is there is nothing new under the sun.32

Shoes have been around for nearly 30,000 years according to researchers at Washington University in St. Louis and the oldest specimen available for researchers to marvel at are over 9,000 years old and made of sagebrush bark strap. This bark strap certainly made a dashing sandal, and today we find gladiator like sandals back in the spotlight this spring!

The history of my favorite shoe (the stiletto) is still in its infancy compared to the sandals of old, not having been introduced until the 1950s. The addition of height has been accomplished before, of course. The 17th and 18th centuries saw their fair share of shoes that would have a detachable heel. Women in Venice would use these additions to add height, obviously, but why?

The women would use the additional height to show off the wealth of their families. Fabric was expensive and having the ability to be so tall and still be fully covered by a dress was a certain sign of the financial stability of the family.

Mirror mirror on the wall…the fairytale about who is the prettiest of them all is based on the very real feelings that women feel when they realise the world is getting younger, but the mirror reveals that they are not. It’s been described by Vivian Diller, co-author of Face It: What Women Really Feel As Their Looks Change, as the ‘Uh-Oh’ moment. When women catch themselves in the changing room mirror, or see their reflection in the car mirror one day and realise that the puffy, wrinkly, tired looking face in the mirror is in fact yours.26

It’s not surprising so many women have a love hate relationship with their mirrors. In today’s youth-centric culture, women feel increasing pressure to look young. Vivian Diller researched the ‘uh-oh’ moment writing her book and found many women in their forties and fifties experienced the devastating revelation that they were old. Women in mid-life are almost obsessed with how they look in the mirror, with more money being spent on cosmetics, beauty treatments and even surgery than ever before. Vivian Diller puts this down in part to the media and our culture that tells older women if they lose their looks, their jobs and husbands will be snatched up by younger models. Older women are, to some extent, invisible with only one or two notable exceptions – namely actresses such as Helen Mirren. Many headlines have been generated by the fact women newsreaders are dumped at a certain age, whereas men go on and on. It’s not surprising then that women invest so much in their youthful appearance.

I think that birthdays are such fun to plan. For the last couple of years I have had parties at home, but I think that now the boys are a bit older, it is time to do something more grown up. We will still do a cake with birthday candles but I think that the normal games at home may not be the way to go. I think that it could be worth forgetting the whole party hats, games and party bags and having a party at a play place or something like that.

It would certainly make things a lot easier for me as the children could just entertain themselves and it should end up being cheaper as all of the party supplies always end up costing such a lot of money. I think all of those little cheap bits add up and they normally do not get appreciated anyway. I will just have to see what the children think about the idea I suppose and hope they agree with me that it will be fun! I am sure that I can convince them as I know they like it at the play place, so that should help to persuade them.

21Every year thousands of girls spend money on modeling portfolios in an attempt to launch a modeling career and to secure a contract with a model agent. However, there are very good reasons why having a model portfolio before approaching a model agent for the first time may actually damage your chances of signing on with an agent.

Instead, model agents prefer prospective models to provide them with a number of snapshots. Whilst these should be clear and in focus there is absolutely no need for them to be shot by a professional photographer; holiday snaps or similar that clearly show both face and body shape are perfectly acceptable for all legitimate agents.

Most prospective models who pay for a portfolio do so by paying one photographer to shoot them in a number of outfits and with different hair and make up. In this way they attempt to recreate the looks that a professional working model might have in her portfolio. However, the portfolios of professional models are shot by many, many different photographers, all of them having very unique and contrasting styles. Paying one photographer to shoot a whole portfolio will not look in any way similar to a professional’s portfolio and can make you look amateurish to a trained eye.
